Welcome to my blog. I’d love for you to follow along on my journey!♡

Leah Elizabeth - Senior Reps

Hey guys! As some of you may know, I was selected to represent Leah Elizabeth Photography for my 2018-2019 senior year. Having Leah capture my journey throughout this special year has been an amazing experience and is something I recommend for all seniors. Including myself, there is a total of 9 reps! These girls range from friends I’ve known since elementary school to girls I’ve been lucky enough to meet through this adventure. Leah is the sweetest soul and I’m grateful that she has taken the time to introduce herself, answer questions and explain more about her business. With out further ado, meet Leah!

A little bit about Leah:

Hi there! My name is Leah and I’m a natural-light portrait photographer in Houston, TX. I started Leah Elizabeth Photography in 2017, specializing in lifestyle portraits for seniors, couples, and families. For each session and photograph I take, I am dedicated to celebrating people and their stories, capturing beauty, meaning, and depth, and experiencing meaningful, real connection. It's been a great 2 years, and I'm looking forward to many more behind the lens! In my free time, you can find me at the beach, taking a yoga class, or snuggled up with a cup of coffee and my sweet kitty, Millie. I’ve been a Texas gal my entire life, but I love traveling and am always looking for a new adventure!

What inspired your passion for photography?

I’ve always been creative, but I stumbled into photography by accident, really. It didn’t take me long to realize that photography was a creative outlet I was really excited about, and something I could actually translate from a hobby into a business. Two years later, my little business continues to grow and I continue to be inspired & encouraged by the people I meet and the stories I get to capture.

What do you love about senior reps?

This is my first year launching a senior reps program, and it’s been such a joy! I love celebrating the individuality of each of my girls, and they’ve really encouraged me to step outside of my comfort zone and get creative. All of them are so willing to adventure with me - even if it means fighting the elements to get the shot! (thank you girls for wading through high grass and mosquito-infested territory with me) Senior year is truly such a fun and exciting season, and I’m honored that my girls trust me to capture these moments with them. Prom, college acceptances, graduation, and senior trips - I love celebrating these milestones with them and taking beautiful images that they can look back on for years to come.

How do you choose your senior reps?

When I was looking for senior reps for 2019, I really wanted a glimpse into each girl’s personality and what they valued in life. It was important for me to select young women who were excited about their future, passionate about their hobbies and interests, and most importantly, confident in who they are as a young woman. To me, the most beautiful thing about someone is the joy and authenticity that comes from being yourself!

What do you look forward to in the future?

I’ve learned so much from this year’s rep program, and I hope to offer it again for the Class of 2020. I’m looking forward to taking this experience and using what I’ve learned to make my business better, and hopefully take it full-time in the next year! Real talk: balancing a full-time job with my dream business on the side has its challenging moments, but I continue to be thankful for the way it has grown and challenged me in all of my roles - as a young professional, daughter, sister, friend, mentor, and creative. The future of Leah Elizabeth Photography feels bright - and I’m excited for what this next year will bring!

Although this post is highlighting the senior rep aspect of her photography, she also shoots families, couples, seniors and portraits.
